Jbis Art is the vision of Jeffrey Bisaillon and his brother Michael Bisaillon.  The brothers were born in upstate New York and have lived in various locations such as San Diego, Austin, Raleigh and Jacksonville.  They are currently based back in their hometown in New York.

Jeffrey is a self taught artist that has painted for 20+ years. He has painted in many genres through the years, but his earliest connection was with the abstract. Jeffrey has now joined forces with Michael who brings 20+ years experience in the electronics, computer, and Digital fields to the table. the POP Collection is the culmination of Jeffrey’s experience as a professional artist and master craftsman and Michael’s experience in computers and digital design.

As new technologies emerge and become available artist’s must utilize them while at the same time respecting the artistic methods of the past. The brothers have created a process where acrylic painting on both canvas and hardpanel is combined with mixed media, digital photography, graphic design and digital design. Paint must still be flung through the air and drip down the panel and canvas while at the same time incorporating the digital aspects of the artistic form for the POP Collection to come together as a whole. This philosophy is the cornerstone of the Bisaillon Brothers artistic endeavors.

The POP Collection acts as an intermediary between iconic imagery and culture as Jeffrey’s last Modern Visage series did but goes back to his roots with the abstract. The digital age is upon us and our art will then reflect this, the POP Collection has arrived!

It was 1996 and shortly after the brothers moved into a house in Austin Texas Jeffrey said to Michael “The walls in this house are bare, we should make some art to hang” the rest is history still being made…

As an artist, I am inspired by the transitional world that we experience. Particularly, about the relationship between natural and man-made environments. The juxtaposition between manufactured and organic drives me to find the layers behind each of these respective worlds, especially when we look through the lens of science and technology. I’m interested in seeing if these worlds can co-exist and not destroy each other. That being said I’m inspired & driven to find a balance myself as an artist and occupant of this amazing & fragile world I co-exist in.

As a creative, I am inspired to use my talent to investigate patterns from science, nature and art. When I consider the beauty of the ocean, a mountain side or a lush forest, I become cognizant of the story that may exist there. My work is driven by my desire to discover the layers and stories in these spaces. The story always involves more than meets the eye, such as the development, pollutants and politics that now impact these beautiful natural spaces.

My goal is to invite my viewers in to a dimension that goes beyond 2D visual art hanging on a wall; I want to lure viewers into a complex 4D world that includes the typical visual layers, but also has the textual stories, and an exploration of our environment. By doing this, my work can be a forum for dialogues that may find solutions to protecting the natural environment, which is precious for human survival.
